A painting‘s individuality and authenticity is taken away. It is without visual components and representation, because nobody ever sees it. Instead, a detailed, audio description of the painting‘s content can be heard through headphones. This verbal representation enables the listener to ‘see’ the painting gradually in her imagination. A transformation from audio to visual takes place within the listener.
The boundaries between fine arts and literature (narrative arts), as well as between visitor and participant merge. The deliberate creation of visual as well as narrative decentralization – through that, what is censored and not shown – ‘forces’ the visitor to visualize the scenario by herself. That way everyone is the creator of his/her own individual painting.
Thus the ‘piece of art’ can just be completed by the listener.
